It was with great excitement that our Y4 children started their Brass lessons yesterday afternoon.  Our new Brass teacher Mr Humphries began with us and lots of fun and new learning was had by all the children.  The children started by showing what they knew about keeping the beat and hearing rhythms.  Then the exciting part came! The instrument cases were opened and the children learnt about the main parts of a brass instrument.  Mr Humphries then demonstrated how to get a sound out of their instruments by buzzing through the mouthpiece.  The children were really great at it, for their first attempt. They finished off by singing along to George Ezra’s ‘Shotgun’, playing their instruments at key points in the chorus.  We’ll done Y4 it was a great session!
